Kory Nelson, Denver's "Dr. Death", Is Killing Them With Kindness At Drops Out Of No-Kill Shelter Conference
Denver' s notorious "Dr. Death Of Dogs", Kory Nelson, was slated to speak at the Best Friends Animal Society upcoming No More Homeless Pets conference October 21-23rd in Boston. The event's tagline........ "Together We're Launching A Kindness Revolution".
Apparently, he's now dropped out. Too bad - people would have paid good money for that show.
Kory Nelson, the city attorney who runs the "Doggie Death Squad" - the very man responsible for the death of almost 400 innocent dogs in Denver - was slated to appear with Dr. Bonnie Beaver, soon-to-be-former-president of the American Veterinary Medical Association at a conference hosted by the leaders in the no-kill, spay/neuter movement.
The Kindness Revolution schedule........
Sat. 10/22
1:00 - 2:00 - Dangerous Dogs - How Do We Protect Pets and The Public? - Kory Nelson, from the city attorney's office in Denver (where they've banned pit bulls), talks with Bonnie Beaver, DVM, about which dogs are dangerous, whether some breeds are inherently dangerous, and what we can do about it.
Afternoon Workshops include:
- 3:30-4:30 Aggressive Dogs - Does Breed Discrimination Make Sense? Bonnie Beaver, Karen Green &
Kory Nelson
Mr. Nelson's appearance on the panel would have been preceded by an hour-long presentation from 2:15 - 3:15 by Bonnie Beaver and Sherri Woodward on "Aggressive Dogs - How To Recognize Them And What To Do"
Any Questions?
American Veterinary Medical Association - 847-925-8070 or email them: avmainfo@avma.org
Best Friends Animal Society - 435-644-2001 or email them: info@bestfriends.org
Has Kory Nelson found a new calling - does he now want to save dogs? Will Bonnie Beaver and the AVMA reverse position to endorse breed discrimination? Will Kory start a kindness revolution in Denver? Will Kory adopt a homeless pit bull?
Tune in next week for updates on Kory Nelson's participation in The Kindness Revolution. Knock 'em dead, Kory. Ooopps - that's right - you already do.

Talk about aggresssive, dangerous that describes the one and only rabid Kory Nelson! Mr. Nelson epitomizes all that American is NOT about. Mr. Nelson would take away the rights of good, law abiding responsible people simply because he does not like their dogs.
What about when Mr. Nelson does not like the brand of washing machine you buy, or the brand of jeans you put on your child? Will he ban those becuase he does not like them???
Mr. Nelson needs to read the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and then he needs to go to church to ask God's forgiveness for slaughtering a living thing because he did not think it needed to live!

Best Friends Animal Society has close ties to Animal People in WA. Merritt Clifton, Animal People's editor, made the following comments on a mailing list in response to an 'action alert' I'd sent out earlier condemning Ontario's pit bull ban and BSL in general. Clifton said:
"Why don't you people slow down, stop hyperventilating, and get the facts first? The proposed Ontario ban will not cause any dogs to be killed other than those already being killed by animal control because a pit bull is a virtually uninsurable adoption, with a 93% euthanasia rate in the U.S. (Canada is unknwn), and 13 major homeowner policy groups that will not cover them at any price. The Ontario ban will grandfather those pit bulls who already have secure homes and are adequately insured. What it will chiefly and primarily do is slow down the breeding and sale of pit bulls. Why would animal advocates encourage further breeding and sale of ANY dogs, let alone a breed notoriously subject to abuse and misuse?"
