Who Would You Boot From Office? My Dog Votes To Name "Top 10 Most Wanted Politicians"
My Dog Votes is seeking nominations for it's first ever "Top 10 Most Wanted -Give Them The Boot " list. Nominees from any political party are eligible, though must meet the qualifications set forth below.
My Dog Votes is asking dog owners to submit names of elected officials who have a clear anti-dog mission in each of 5 categories: Breed Bans, Insurance Discrimination, Weight or Size Discrimination, Pet Limit Laws and Public Space Bans.
Nominees for the My Dog Votes "Top 10 Most Wanted - Give Them The Boot" must have demonstrated superior skills in fear-mongering, truth-twisting, and data manipulation. A proven track record of shameless self-promotion, back-room deal-making, and accepting large campaign donations from the insurance lobby is key. Leading candidates for the list will possess the ability to subvert the will of the people, infringe on constitutional rights and exploit a child's death for political gain.
Who will make the My Dog Votes "Top 10 Most Wanted - Give Them The Boot" list?
My Dog Votes "Top 10 Most Wanted - Out Of Office" - Should They Get The Boot? Possible Nominees............
Michael Bryant, Attorney General, Ontario.
Speculation is running high that the tough-talking, blank-law shooting Attorney General from Canada will capture one of the top spots on the list.
A key member of the McGinty administration and the Liberal Party (which has taken quite a beating for escalating inner city crime) Michael's got an ingenious law that allows for dogs to be confiscated from dog owners without a warrant for euthanasia or sale to a medical research facility. Michael's got that goosestep thang goin' on.
Jackie Speier, California State Senate
When does a bill for drugs become a bill about dogs? Just ask Jackie!
Political opportunist extraordinaire, Jackie is the infamous author of SB 861 in California. Not only does she looks great in those classic pearls, she's also great at circumventing the law to get her way while trying to take constitutionally-protected rights from citizens at the same time. You go, girl.
Gavin Newsom, San Francisco Mayor
Gavin is nobody's bitch, and we can see he is a true team player. Gavin and his dedicated team worked hard to deliver the the foundation for Jackie's bill, SB 861. Did the report contain factual inaccuracies, myth and lies? You betcha. Gavin has outdone himself, and we think he deserves to be on the list.
Tim Leslie, California State Assembly
Talk about bridging the gap - even though he's a newcomer to dog politics, Tim Leslie has jumped right in with both feet. He's put party politics aside to focus on what's really important - breed extermination.
"I think we ought to string 'em all up, send them to some other state", said Tim with regard to pit bulls. You gotta give him snaps for that one.
Kory Nelson, Assistant City Attorney, Denver
Kory, though not elected to office, has dedicated his life to seeing pit bulls wiped from the face of the earth, even endorsing the shooting of dogs.
Kory is responsible for Denver's "Doggie Death Squad", has mobilized police and animal control in a door-to-door campaign to confiscate household pets for euthanasia. Kory's zealot-like efforts have not gone unnoticed. Don't worry, Kory. God is definitely watching you.
The My Dog Votes "Top 10 Most Wanted - Give Them The Boot" list will be published sometime in early October.
Who would you want to see booted from office? Nominations for the My Dog Votes "Top 10 Most Wanted - Give Them The Boot" will be accepted through September 30Th, 2005. Send your submissions to: info@mydogvotes.com

We need to lose that Wesselhoft moron in Oklahoma. That man knows precious little about dogs, and is campaigning to have the whole APBT breed wiped out.
Wesselhoft rantings:
"The bottom line is that the pit bull is unpredictable," he said. "They are nice warm pets until something going off in their brain and then they are a lethal weapon trying to tear out skin and crush bone."
"The bottom line is that, by getting rid of pit bulls in Oklahoma, we will be making our state safer for all Oklahomans, in particular our children and the elderly."
"Each time I read about one of these attacks or see the story on TV, I tell my wife Judy, 'That dog ought to be outlawed.'"

While my gut instinct is to muzzle, short-leash and speuter all of these blackguards, that might be inhumane, as would 'euthanizing' the most dangerous among them. Could we send them to a research facility instead? A study investigating how these thugs have the nerve to proclaim themselves suitable as spokesfolk for public safety when they are a threat to same would likely yield intersting results.

I've revamped my priority list. Kory Nelson must go first, followed by the Denver city councillors who support Denver's killing spree. A man who can seize and kill family pets that have done no wrong, solely because of their appearance, who causes law abiding citizens to move out of the city to save their pets, is truly a man who must be removed from public office. His is the same mentality as that of people (I use the word reservedly) who lynched others solely because of appearance.
In Ontario, Dalton McGuinty, Michael Bryant and every sycophant Liberal who voted in favour of the "pit bull" ban must go next. And not solely because of the "pit bull" ban...their incompetence during their time in office to date is not to be believed. Time to end their term.
Then, the mayors of Ontario towns who pushed BSL, especially Eddie Francis of Windsor who behaves like a feudal lord and does not allow citizens to address city council on a matter so close to their hearts. Follow the mayors with the city councillors who support BS BSL. If they can't learn or can't be bothered learning and are pleased to oppress responsible, law abiding citizens, should they be in public office?

I'm thrilled you put Michael Bryant at the top of the list, but I'd like to add Dalton McGuinty, the Ontario Premier, as his cojoined dark side twin. After all, Ontario's BS BSL would not have gone anywhere unless Uncle Dalton approved it. Add Lloyd Hines from Guysborough County, Nova Scotia to the list (I can hear the banjoes twanging as I type). The mayors of Windsor, London, Kitchener-Waterloo, Brantford, Chapleau and any other locale in Canada with breed specific legislation - most are in Ontario, stupidity must be in the air or the water. I'm so sorry there isn't a picture of Kory Nelson, I'd hoped to use it as a new faceplate on my dart board.
These people think nothing of turning responsible, tax paying, voting residents into second class citizens, without any offense having been committed. I am appalled and repelled by their low, self-serving politicking, at the expense of our rights and dogs' lives.

I am thankful that we have someone like John Glenn willing to go the extra mile, and visit every one of those forked tongued freaks, in an attempt to get the truth told. I'm only sorry I could not have walked the halls of Sacramento with John, in a show of solidarity. I have made loads of calls, faxed letters, and sent emails, and I hope many of you will do the same. Do it for the breed you know and love.

Okay, I know the list is only for elected officials, but couldn't we have a "dishonorable mention" category for prominent non-elected types, like Kory Nelson?
If so, then let my nomination go to Dr. Nicholas Dodman, DVM, Program Director of Tufts University's Animal Behavior clinic, prolific lecturer and author on topics many dog topics.
My favorite Dodman quote, published in the Boston Globe last fall:
"Some of these dogs are
as dangerous as a loaded handgun. You can eliminate
a good deal of the problem if you put restrictions
on certain breeds, such as Pitbulls and Rottweilers
and German Shepherds."

Senator Russell H. Potts from Virginia who signed on to a mandatory spay/neuter bill in 2004 and then a Humane Education Bill in 2005. Could it be that Senator Potts received a nice fat donation from the person who wanted this bill signed, sealed and delivered?
Now Potts is running for Governor, pleaseeeeeeeeeee!!

What about Rick Santorum & his support of PAW? He MUST go!

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He said if he took office he would put a stop to "stupid laws." Since coming into office the stupid laws have increased. Is California any better since he came into office? My daugher just made a visit to our home state that we love with all our hearts...she said she saw nine U-hauls headed out of California. Patricia Harris, left my home; Butte County, CA (Oroville) to save my show dogs...limit laws AND staged barking.........illegal prosecution...AC is at it again...drug raid and confication of pets...senior citizens in Oroville, CA.
