It's true - Congress is for sale. Convicted on federal bribery and fraud charges, lobbyist Jack Abramoff was a very busy boy, indeed, spreading BIG FAT green wads of cash to good little House Reps and Senators (as long as they did his bidding).
So blatant in his bribery and influence peddling, Dirty Jack even paid good little congressional wives, leaving BIG FAT green checks under their firm, yet soft pillows, encased in crisp 700 thread count Egyptian cotton, for vague but highly valuable "services". Now that's creative financing. Meanwhile............
How Dirty Boys Get Clean
Puppy champion Rick Santorum was amongst the recipients of that Dirty Jack Abramoff money. The infamous author of the so called "anti-puppymill bill - The PAWS Bill - SB 1139/HB 2776 - scrambled to dump the dirty money some charity in an effort to cleanse himself just in time - he's trying to keep his seat in the Senate.
But look closely at his photo. Notice that both sides of Santorum's mouth are open? That's because the talented Mr. Rick is blessed with the ability to speak from both sides of his mouth at the same time.
On the left side of his mouth, Rick's saying we need lobbying reform, so in a laugh-out-loud spin move, Santorum is leading the GOP charge for ethics reform, along side of John McCain, holding just-in-time hearings to "clean up Congress".
Now on the right side of his mouth, Rick is thanking all those generous lobbyists for contributing to his 2006 reelection campaign. In fact, Rick Santorum is soooo popular with lobbyists, he's been named as the country's top recipient of campaign contributions from lobbyists for the 2006 election cycle. I wonder - is there any lobby money behind PAWS???????
Bribery In Washington - Business As Usual
Not without reason, a whopping 77% of Americans think bribery is "the way things work in Congress", according to a CBS News/NY Times poll, and 61% disapprove of the job Congress is doing.
Has Congress sold America out to big money - and dumped democracy and you - in favor of lobbyist cash?

American citizens have the right to know the truth of what goes on in Washington - we have the right to demand accountability from our elected representatives - like what PAWS is REALLY about....
How To Restore Faith In America
No one is above the law - not even the President himself. That's why American citizens deserve a plan to track all legislators on campaign finance and influence peddling - a plan to track those who shill for lobbyists and big money.
We need a plan that will restore the public trust in our government and restore faith in the guiding principles upon which this great country was founded. We need a plan restore our faith in democracy and restore our faith in America.
Tracking Influence In Congress
To restore the public trust, we need to see which elected officials are taking money or favors - who's schmoozing it up with lobbyists for campaign donations, then doling out fat cat government contracts to their contributors and their clients . We could start with the PAWS bill.
Great sites like OpenSecrets.org , run by nonpartisans at The Center For Responsive Politics, do a great job tracking campaign finance - but it's all reporting AFTER the fact.

National Legislator and Lobbyist Identification System
The NLLIDS program will restore and maintain the trust of the American people in our system of government, by the effective facilitation of transparency in government. Through a realtime legislative and lobbying tracking system called NLLIDS, the American people are provided with a 48 hour traceback of any outbreak of lobbying activity. We can track who and what is behind PAWS!
The NLLIDS uses the same, advanced RFID satellite tracking system and biometrics used in the USDA's controversial NAIS plan to traceback animal disease outbreaks. Through this shared services model, NLLIDS both reduces the tax burden and increases the effectiveness of the program! The NLLIDS program will be administered through the newly created Department of Legislative Trust, overseen by a citizen panel, selected by lottery, whose identities will be kept secret.
Congress - Tag 'Em & Track 'Em!
However - what will never be secret again is the physical, geographical location of any legislator, lobbyist, staff or family member. The American people will be able to physically track them, whether on a golf outing in Scotland or in the men's room at any DC restaurant. That means if Rick Santorum is schmoozing it up with Tommy Thompson -now a Director with VeriChip - we would know about it.
This mandatory physical and property surveillance program can even locate a senator having cocktails in his backyard back in his home district or cocktails with his mistress at the Mandarin Oriental.

- Will be implanted with a microchip containing a Radio Frequency Identification Device, designed to be read from a distance or by satellite
- Will be required to submit a DNA sample and a retinal scan as part of identity authentication
- Movement will be tracked, providing the American people with a fail safe 48 hour traceback in case of any outbreak of legal or illegal lobbying activity
- Third parties - even ordinary American citizens - will be required to report “sightings” of all legislators and lobbyists, whether those sightings occur in public or private.
- Any legislator or lobbyist or family member, staff member, etc. is found without the mandatory 15-digit computer-readable microchip implant, that citizen is required to report the noncompliant legislator or lobbyist, who will then be held and physically implanted
- Live satellite tracking feeds of any legislator or lobbyist will be available 24/7 on the expanded CSPAN network or on the new NLLIDS website
- The NLLIDS website will provide live feeds and streaming video of the satellite tracking images on any lobbyist or legislator, simply by entering that person's corresponding ID number
- The American people will have free and easy access to the federal NLLIDS database, so that any citizen may extract data to compile and share custom activity reports
- All communications between legislators and lobbyists and any third party special interest groups, whether by mail, email or any other communications method, will be uploaded or mirrored to the NLLIDS website
- Failure to comply with the NLLIDS will result in immediate expulsion from the legislature, a lifetime ban from working in any field related to politics, stiff civil fines as well as criminal charges. Those practicing law will be disbarred for life in all 50 states.
- Any special interest group or nonprofit, and representatives, that will, in any way benefit monetarily by way of receiving government contracts, must also adhere to the provisions of the NLLIDS
- There are no exceptions
NLLIDS & NAIS - What's Not To Love?
Now isn't that brilliant?? Now if you think the NLLIDS program sounds eerily similar to the USDA's NAIS - National Animal Identification System, you'd be right! I figured that if mandatory property and animal surveillance via mandatory microchipping tracked by satellite is good enough for everyday animal owners, small farmers and homesteaders - anyone with just one goat or cow or chicken or horse - why then, it's good enough for Congress.
And why not save the taxpayers billions by leveraging those same resources to implement the mandatory property and physical surveillance to keep tabs on our elected officials! What's not to love about that?
If We Only Knew
Now if only the NLLIDS were in place when Rick Santorum first introduced the PAWS Bill - SB 1139/HB 2669 - that infamous piece of legislation that will supposedly save all of the puppymill puppies. Hmmm - I wonder.... What if by chipping Santorum earlier:
- Would we have known what big money and special interest groups were really behind the PAWS bill?
- Would we have known that special interest groups - oooops, I mean nonprofits, like the AKC, The Humane Society of the United States, The Doris Day Animal League, PETA, and others - would receive promise of government contracts or other "benefits"? in exchange for their support of The PAWS Bill - oh yeah - and their data, too?
- Would we have known that PAWS, SB 1139/HB 2776, is really a BIG, FAT TRILLION DOLLAR GIVEAWAY to defense contractors, RFID microchip makers Digital Angel and Verichip?
- Would we have known that the PAWS Bill is the just the step Santorum needs to require the inclusion of all companion and home bred animals in the National Animal Identification System - NAIS?
- Would the American people rise up to defend their right to own property, own animals and defend their right to privacy without government property surveillance, intrusion and tracking?
- Would we have known that the PAWS Bill - sb1139 - isn't really about saving the Puppymill Puppies?
No Legislator or Lobbyist Left Behind
Through the immediate implementation and full compliance with

If chipping legislators and lobbyists would give rise to potential euthanasia for them that may be an interesting Darwinian principle but for saving the lives of countless dogs and cats it makes sense to protect them when they cannot speak. Oh if the former could not speak !!

THE USDA Head Vet, Dr. Goff in Missouri at a cost of the Taxpayers money, in the amount of over $150,000, gave away free hats and mugs, if you registered your premise....This was done at the Sedalia State Fair in Sedalia, Mo.
In addition, the USDA paid country singer, Leroy Van Dyke approx $3,xxx and the Poet on RFD, Baxter Black the sum of approx $2xxx, and in addition the cost to air these folks was over $300,000 of the Taxpayers money....Total cost for these items alone are near $500,000.......THIS IS IN ADDITION THE THE MILLION/PERHAPS BILLIONS OF OUR TAXPAYERS MONEY TO PUSH THE "Currently Voluntary, then MANDATORY NATIONAL ANIMAL ID SYSTEM....
I have contacted my governors office, U.S. Jim Talent office, U.S. Senator Bonds office, and their Office Representatives have told me, they do not know what position they are regarding the NAIS.
They are in office, and they do not know what position they are taking and this has been going on for some time.............
Missouri Citizens, know who you vote for when election come around...

This is a brilliant idea and one I would vote for. Chip all politicians starting with Rick. Yes! When they are all chipped they can ask that America's animals be chipped and not before. G Bush should be second in line (or perhaps sitting on Rick's lap) for the second chip.
