« Denver 38 Dead - All Dogs Go To Heaven But Denver Officials Should Rot In Hell | Main | Calling All You Angels - Denver 38 Video »

July 25, 2006

I just recently had my Akita pass away. She had been with the family for 14 years. She was around my grandchildren since she was a 7 weeks old and loved them all. They climbed on her and went through the turmoil all dogs undergo with children. She would have fought to the death for us, which is what we expect isn't it? Dogs regardless of breed are what we make of them. I know mine was family and is missed everyday.

Tracee Hudec

I personally own a doberman pinchser and recently had a German Shepard and I have to say the dob was the sweetest dog ive ever owned, dont let specific breeds tell you anything !

I'm not sure why it hasn't been posted...maybe cause I'm trying to get this vigil together last minute...but for all you Long Islanders out there..we are having a candlelight vigil in Long Beach. It will be in front of city hall next to the LB train station at placecalled Kennedy Plaza. Come on down, bring candles and some signs....well behaved dogs are welcome. Any questions, please e-mail me at ...hope to see you there!

I am a Chinese girl, and I have a lovely Husky.August 20th is my birthday,I feel so happy to do something for all dogs in China.Sorry for my poor English...But I still wish more attention from international, becourse we even cannot have a dog higher than 35cm...Most of them are very friendly and kind...

I am so in favor of this candle light vigil! I am certainly going to do my part here in Richmond VA to see how many folks we can get out to stop the banning and save more lives of dogs that happened to be born the "wrong breed". I'm appalled at how many of the "dangerous breed" dogs are getting PTS! It's horrendous and I will vote any candidate out that is for banning certain breeds for my dog. My dog does vote!!!!

I saw that Mass was mentioned above: "Light a candle and remember the innocent dogs in California, in Massachussetts, and in Prince Georges County Maryland". Can you tell me what happened in Mass, I just moved her and would like to know. Thank you!

Banning a Breed will do no good - that like saying if you ban people that take drugs or own guns Nothing bad will ever happen! Accidents happen to the best of the best. Education! Education! is what needs to be done and it needs to start at where the people are getting these poor babies that end up in the wrong hands

Thanks for this what a great way to call all ANGELS together. I did it last year from a hotel room with my two Pitties at my side. In May I left a candle burn all night for the aniversery of the Denver ban. But this time I will light two candles one for the worldwide vigil and 1 just for the Denver 38! Judy

Sandi Coy

On the first aniversary of the re-instatement of the ban in Denver I decided to give each dog that had been killed one hour on a candle. To complete that task myself and several volunteers took turns with the candles and it took 40 DAYS to give the 1056 dogs each one hour. How very sad that was, but I feel that hour of light helped light their way to the rainbow bridge. I will be lighting a candle on Aug. 20th to honor all the dogs that have died and I will let it burn for 24 hrs to help light the way for others to see. I challange all out there to join me and light a candle. Sandi
