Light A Candle In Memory Of Lora Bauer Brashears
It is with great sadness that we share the news that Lora Bauer Brashears (Hartagold Kennels) has passed. After two separate lung transplants, Lora lost her battle, she is survived by her loving husband, Tim.
One of the leading voices in the fight against BSL, Lora was a powerful advocate for the American Staffordshire Terrier, the American Pit Bull Terrier, and all of the bully breeds.
Lora helped mentor others to understand the issues and challenges facing targeted breeds, she was a crusading angel for the dogs who needed it most.
As a leading advocate for the American Staffordshire Terrier and the American Pit Bull Terrier, Lora was interviewed by best-selling author, Malcolm Gladwell, for his ground-breaking article in February 2006 edition of The New Yorker entitled, "What Pit Bills Can Teach Us About Profiling", an article in the mainstream media that went a long well in helping to dispel the myths surrounding these wonderful breeds.
Lora will be missed tremendously, as her presence rippled through the the dog world. Even if you never met Lora, please know that her knowledge, her work, and her love for dogs has impacted your life, and the lives of the very dogs we are trying to save.
Today I will light a candle for this true Bully Angel, and say thank you, Lora, for helping to light the way.
