Who are the most dog-friendly candidates in NJ in the upcoming midterm elections? Is there any site that lists all the candidates across the nation with their position on BSL?

I will not support mandatory spay/neuter of ANY dog, mongrel or purebred. I will support the promotion of s/n for pet dogs, which is an entirely different kettle of fish.

The gubbamint has no business in the dog houses of the nation. (Apologies to PET, Pierre Elliott Trudeau, our country's worst and most charismatic Prime Minister.)

It's time to start kicking ass and taking names. We are winning, let's keep the pressure on - we can do this, guys.

It all comes down to who is right and who is wrong and I know we are right. Let's just win this and move on.

Charles Brettell

I am a voter in Kansas City. I lobbied hard against BSL. I don't believe BSL MSN is any better. I am asking everyone who wants my vote about their position on BSL. I am making a point of informing co-workers about their City Councilmembers.

Anyone who owns a "suspect breed" owes it to their pups and themselves to get educated on the issues, vote and hold their elected officials accountable.

See ya at the polls on Tues!

2 things:

1) I think there is a problem that you are not addressing. Home Insurance policies. Too many companies are targeting specific breeds and not writing policies to homes with these breeds. This is the main reason, rotts, dobies, pits etc languish in shelters. Without home owners insurace you can not have a morgage or even rent a house.

2) Microchips: I do not agree with your position. I do believe in microchips for all breeds. I do rescue and this is the only way to identify owners, for lost, dumped and for dangerous pets. All responsible owners microchip and register their pets with the appropriate registry. A discussion as to if this should be required to be given to a government agency is a different arguement.
