Texas Candidate For Gov Gets Pitbull Kisses

Texas Candidate For Gov Gets Pitbull Kisses

Babies across Texas  - move over. In this campaign video, Kinky Friedman,  independent candidate for governor down in Texas,  Kinky shows he isn't just dog-friendly, he's downright pit-friendly.

Kinky, friend of morning talk jock, Don Imus, is running a campaign based on the Cowboy Way.   Now we don't know where Kinky stand on all the issues, but hey, he seems like a man that knows a thing or two about dogs and has some common sense.

We'd like to see all candidates start kissing pitbulls on the campaign trail, especially in states where breed specific legislation is running rampant - Iowa, Massachussets, Missouri, Kentucky, etc.

Gotta give Kinky BIG snaps! Kinky - you may have just started a trend.  YouTube video sent courtesy of a loyal DogPolitics.com reader, Miss Jade.

Kill Bill 132 Banned Aid Auction Draws Support From Ontario MPPs

Kill Bill 132 - Going, Going - Gone.

Dog owners in the Province of Ontario won't roll over and play dead for Michael Bryant or the Liberal Party.

The passage of Bill 132 in Ontario makes us wonder what Michael Bryant reads before bedtime as he and his party (or should we say cronies)  march toward a final solution for Pit Bulls on August 29th, 2005, when Bill 132 becomes law.

Help is on the way as dog groups pledged a legal challenge to the aforementioned bill.  And several Ontario MPP's , AKA Politicians Who Get It, showed up the Banned Aid Auction to support dog owners and to make a political statement.

To fund the legal challenge to Bill 132 on behalf of dog owners throughout the Province of Ontario, The Banned Aid Coalition of Canadian dog organizations began fundraising in earnest by holding an auction Barrie, Ontario on July 29th.

When the gavel came down in Barrie, dog owners and Politicians Who Get It had one thing in mind  -  Kill Bill 132.  The auction was a raging success, raising money, visibility and support for the Banned Aid legal fund to overturn Bill 132.

But  just which Canadian officials  came out to support  Banned Aid Coalition, the rights of responsible dog owners, and the legal fund to overturn Bill 132?  Gee - we thought you'd never ask.............

She Got Game -She Got Ethics - Debbie Stafford State-House (R-CO)

Why We Like Debbie Stafford

Debbie Stafford is a woman who's not afraid to do the right thing.  She got game.

Debbie_stafford_co

Debbie Stafford was the lone elected official that came out to support dog owners and their rights at a recent rally in Aurora, Colorado.    You see, Debbie was there for Sonya Dias and her group of close to 300 supporters, The Pitbull Band, IN THE RAIN, as they rallied to oppose a possible breed ban here.

Which then begs the question - How come Debbie Stafford sees fit to support the rights of citizens, while other Colorado officials see fit to trample on them?

How come Debbie Stafford isn't afraid to speak out against a policy as flawed as Denver's breed ban?

So what possesses this woman to take a stand?  What does she have that others don't?

Let me spell it out for Kory Nelson and other elected officials in Denver and Aurora, using the breed issue inflame to public for their own political gain:

E-T-H-I-C-S.

Why We Like Dean - Senator Dean G. Skelos District 9 - State-Senate (R-NY)

Dean Skelos.  We like him. Here's why.

He's a supporter of responsible dog owners and legislation that would prohibit insurance companies from discriminating against good dog owners and good dogs.

Deanskelos

Skelos is against the disgraceful practice by the insurance industry of breed profiling - which is basically racial profiling for dogs.

The insurance industry is targeting almost 30 dog breeds as "dangerous" in an ever-growing grab for more profits and Dean Skelos wants to stop them.
